Admissions Procedure:
Following on from your initial enquiry we warmly invite you to visit us at St Joseph’s College on one of our many Open Days.
After you have toured the College and met with the Head and Senior members of staff, if you want to take the next step you will need to register to confirm your interest. There is a fee (currently £50) that accompanies this process which is non-returnable.
Pupils seeking to enter the College from Year 7 (age 11 upwards) upwards are expected to complete an assessment held in January for entrance the following September.
On the satisfactory completion of this assessment a place may be formally offered. A waiting list operates once all places are allocated.
When a place is offered, a deposit of £400 is payable when the offer is accepted. This deposit, will be retained until your child leaves the school, when it will be credited to the final account for fees and any extras which may be due at that time.
The deposit is not refundable if a child does not take up a place at the school.
Once your place is confirmed, all further necessary information will be given to you in the form of an orientation pack e.g. uniform list, club timetables and term dates. New pupils are invited to an Open Morning to meet their tutor group teacher in the term before they start.
Admissions Policy:
The Governors of St Joseph’s College have admissions criteria for pupils joining the schools:
- The School is a Catholic School.
- The School welcomes all Christians and those in sympathy with our ethos.
- Priority is given to siblings and to those pupils who begin school in our Early Years Department when it comes to transferring to the Infant Years.
- Subject to meeting the entrance requirements of the School at age 11, St Joseph’s College pupils have precedence over pupils seeking admittance from elsewhere.
