Year 8 pupils represented St. Joseph’s college in a county-wide enterprise organised by the Berkshire Education Library Services (ELS). Six teams of four schools took part in writing a serial e-book, one chapter per day beginning with the sentence “Only 30 seconds of air remained”. An idea- blitzing session by Mrs Shirwani and her Year 8 English class resulted in an excellent opening chapter, which was then sent electronically to the next school in our group, LVS in Ascot, who wrote Chapter 2.
